HMRC has launched a new public facing log of live and resolved tariff related issues.
We hope that this will provide users with timely, self-serve access to critical information that may affect customs declarations.
The aim is that the Issues Log will be used in conjunction with Stop Press. The issues log will notify when we are aware of an issue and the stop will notify the technical updates that occur to the tariff.
We will update the live issues log when:
- HMRC becomes aware of tariff data issues that may affect declarations; and
- Where we can provide an update on an issue already logged.
We hope that this will allow tariff users to check for known issues and provide a consolidated view of important issues that may affect their declarations.
The Issues Log will sit in its own section of the Online Trade Tariff News section and is available direct from this link: UK Integrated Online Tariff: Look up commodity codes, duty and VAT rates - GOV.UK
As this is a new service in its first iteration, we are particularly keen to receive feedback and suggestions so we can ensure this best meets user needs.
Feedback on the service can be provided via this link UK Integrated Online Tariff: Look up commodity codes, duty and VAT rates or direct to online.tariff.feedback@hmrc.gov.uk
Any questions around the individual issues can be sent to tariffmanagement@hmrc.gov.uk
